NMC alerts medical colleges against fake recognition letter trap for PG medical courses
Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice through its Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB), cautioning medical colleges against the circulation of counterfeit letters of Recognition and Renewal of Recognition for PG Courses.
The apex medical regulatory body urged cooperation from all stakeholders to help curb the spread of misinformation and maintain the integrity of the recognition process for Post Graduate Medical Courses
The issue came to light after several medical colleges reported the reception of these fraudulent letters bearing the forged signature of Dr Vijay Oza, the President of PGMEB.
To ensure the legitimacy of Recognition and Renewal of Recognition letters, NMC, in its notice underscored that all official communications are exclusively dispatched through a dedicated email channel: pqweb.recognition@nmc.org.in. Additionally, hard copies of these letters are sent through the traditional method of speed post.
