New Delhi: In consonance with the NEET 2022 admission schedule and permission requests, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has allowed all pending recognition and continuation of recognition to medical colleges for MBBS seats. With this move, the NMC has granted permission for MBBS admissions this academic year, for the same number of seats, as the medical colleges made admissions last academic year of 2021-2022.

Earlier in September, after the declaration of NEET 2022 results, the NMC had allowed the due renewal of permission and recognition or continuation of recognition to all medical colleges based on a sworn affidavit for the academic year 2022-2023 duly signed by the medical colleges' authorities. However, the NMC warned the institutes that surprise inspections would be conducted as per their track record and decisions will be taken according to the assessment reports.

"The medical colleges, their recognition and continuation of recognition are due, for all of them, it has been decided to give recognition and continuation or recognition on the basis of sworn affidavit for the academic year 2022-23," the notification released by the NMC had mentioned.

"However, random surprise inspections may be carried out on the basis of the track record of the medical colleges for the Academic Year 2022-2023 and on the basis of the inspection reports decision will be taken, the NMC further stated.

Now, allowing all pending recognitions, the NMC stated:

"Those colleges whose recognition and continuation of recognition are due, it has been decided to grant permission for MBBS admission for Academic Year 2022-2023, for the same number of seats admitted in Academic Year 2021-2022."

However, the colleges that have received disapproval from the NMC for this year's MBBS admissions are not eligible for permission.

"The colleges who have been denied any recognitions due to legal issue by NMC, cancellation of batch/stoppage of admission shall not be considered eligible for permission to admit MBBS students in Academic Year 2022-23."
