The extension has been announced through a public notice issued by the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) on January 29, 2026.
According to the notice, the online application portal for UG courses has been made live and will remain open until 12:00 midnight on February 3, 2026. The decision has been taken to provide applicants with additional time to complete the submission process.
“It is to inform that the online application portal for UG courses has been made live forthwith and the portal will remain active till 12.00 midnight on 03.02.2026”, the notice read.
This extension will be the final opportunity for applicants intending to establish new medical colleges or seek enhancement of MBBS seat capacity for the upcoming academic session. However, no further extension of the application deadline will be granted under any circumstances.
“The applicants are requested to fill in the application in advance to avoid the last-minute rush. This shall be the final opportunity for filing applications for establishing new Medical Colleges for AY:2026-27. No further extension shall be granted”, the notice stated.
Applicants have been advised to submit their applications well in advance to avoid last-minute technical issues or congestion on the portal.
The communication has been addressed to the Directors, Principals, and Deans of all medical colleges and institutions under NMC, as well as applicants seeking permission to establish new medical colleges.

Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB), medical colleges across India can now submit the required admission details up to January 31, 2026 (midnight).
