NMC sets deadline for NEET PG 2025 admissions data upload by medical colleges, warns of action
New Delhi: To ensure that admissions to postgraduate courses have been made in accordance with judicial decisions and relevant regulations, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all medical colleges and institutions to upload details of postgraduate admissions made through NEET PG 2025 on its online portal for the academic year 2025-26.
The Commission has set April 8, 2026, as the last date to submit the data.
Writing to the Director of Directorate of Medical Education of all States and Principal/Dean of all the Medical Colleges, the Postgraduate Medical Education Bard (PGMEB) of the NMC on 30.3.2026 stated that all colleges must ensure that admissions to PG courses including MD, MS, PG Diploma, DM, and MCh are strictly in accordance with merit and are made in a transparent and fair manner as envisaged in the Regulations.
The board warned that any violation of admission rules will lead to the discharge of the concerned students from the courses and legal action against the concerned medical college or institution.
To streamline the process, the PG board has asked institutions to submit the details of all student admissions through its online system available on the official website
"The National Medical Commission has been set up by an Act of Parliament, namely, the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, in September, 2020. As per, Section 61(2) of National Medical Commission Act, 2019, “Notwithstanding the repeal of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, the educational standards, requirements and other provision of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and the rules and regulations made thereunder shall continue to be in force and operate till new standards or requirements are specified under this Act or the rules and regulations made thereunder.” Admission to the Postgraduate courses (PG Diploma, MD/MS, DM & M.Ch.) has to be made in accordance with judicial decisions and MCI/NMC Regulations," read the notice.

The notice further added, "Already existing login id is to be used for the purpose of logging in. Through this unique login id, all the medical colleges/institutions must submit the admission details of postgraduate students within the stipulated time beyond which the Colleges/Institutions will not be allowed to enter the details of the students onto the Student Admission Online Monitoring System for the current academic year. Data uploaded through the Student Admission Entry portal shall be the only data used for the purpose of monitoring students’ admission."
