New Delhi: The Safdarjung Hospital and Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC), New Delhi have announced vacancies for the post of Senior Resident on an ad hoc basis in various hospital departments. The selection will be based on the interview.
Safdarjung Hospital was founded in 1942 during the Second World War as a Base Hospital for the allied forces. It was taken over by the Govt. of India in 1954 under the Ministry of Health. It has grown over the years into one of the largest, tertiary, level multi-disciplinary healthcare institutions in this part of the World. Based on the needs and developments in Medical Care, the hospital has regularly upgraded its facilities from diagnostic and therapeutic aspects to all the specialties.

Total no of Vacancies: 47
The Vacancies are in the Departments of Cancer Surgery, Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Medical Oncology, Medicine, Nephrology, Psychiatry, Pulmonary Medicine, Renal Transplant, and Urology.
The date of walk-in-interview is 26th JUNE 2025.

How to Apply For Eligible Candidates?
1. Eligible candidates will present themselves for registration on date of walk-in-interview as per time of reporting mentioned below in the table in Academic Section, Room no.14, Ground Floor, VMMC Building. They must bring original certificate/documents at the time of registration along with one set of self-attested copies of all documents in support of their candidature for the post and one recent passport size photograph & duly filled Application Form as per Annexure-I.
2. Undertaking in application form must be signed by the candidate.
3. Crucial date for determination of eligibility with reference to age, educational qualification and experience etc. will be the date of walk-in-interview.
4. The appointment will be initially for a period of 89 days, which could be extended for a further period of 89 days, subject to the satisfactory work & conduct report from the concerned HOD. The maximum tenure of Senior Resident will be three years including
any service rendered earlier as Senior Resident on adhoc/regular basis in any Govt. of India/State Government hospital/institution.
5. Other service conditions will be applicable as per service conditions prescribed from time to time by the Govt. of India.
6. The candidate who is already employed should submit No Objection Certificate from present employer. Relieving is required from the present employer before joining.
7. Inter - hospital/Institution transfer shall not be permitted.
8. The candidate must bring following original certificates at the time of interview
a. Certificate in support of age (10th certificate)
b. Certificate of registration with DMC for both MBBS and PG or acknowledgement of registration.
c. MBBS degree/provisional pass Certificate.
d. MD/MS/DNB/Diploma Degree/provisional Pass Certificate.
e. SC/ ST/OBC Caste certificate, if applicable in the prescribed format by Govt. of India.
f. EWS candidates to submit copy of Income & Asset Certificate as per AnnexureIII having date of issue on or after 01.04.2025 (valid for year 2025-26) vide OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res) dated 31.01.2019 of DOPT, Ministry of Personal & Public Grievance & Pensions, New Delhi.
g. EWS candidate must bring copy of Form 16 / ITR for financial year 2024-25, if he/she was working during that period and income certificate/copy of ITR / form 16 of both parents and siblings below the age of 18 years and also his/her spouse and children below the age of 18 years.
h. Experience certificate, if any.
i. No Objection Certificate, if employed in Central Govt / State Govt / PSUs / Autonomous Bodies. **Candidate must submit the latest OBC certificate issued on or after 01-04-2025 by the competent authority in the format prescribed by DOPT, Govt. of India for appointment to Central Government posts (as per Annexure-II).
9. Tentative date of joining will be 07 days (approx.) from the date of issue of the result.
10. The candidate has to collect his/her offer of appointment from Academic Section after display of final result. The offer of appointment shall stand cancelled, if acceptance to the post is not received within the stipulated time period.
