Karnal Doctor Brutal Murder: Former Dialysis Technician of the Victim arrested as Prime Suspect
Karnal: While the city doctors are still grappling with the brutal murder of a well-known doctor, Dr Rajiv Gupta who was shot dead on Saturday, police have managed to arrest three people including a former dialysis technician of the victim.
Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about the brutal murder of Dr Rajiv Gupta, owner and senior doctor of Amritdhara Hospital in Karnal city, was shot dead by three miscreants on a bike.
The incident took place earlier in the evening when the doctor was on his way to his hospital for evening rounds. As per eyewitnesses, three masked people on a bike blocked the doctor’s car which was being driven by his driver. The miscreants then fired three rounds on the doctor, out of which two bullets hit the doctor’s chest. In a bleeding condition, the doctor was rushed to his own hospital where the doctors team tried to save him for nearly an hour, but at eight o’clock, unfortunately, he was declared dead

According to police officials the main accused was Gupta's former employee Pawan Dahiya, who was sacked from his job last December after over a decade of service.Pawan Dahiya, a former dialysis technician at Dr. Gupta’s Amritdhara Hospital bore a grudge against the doctor for dismissing him from service, the police said.
He also did not get a job elsewhere in the city. Angry at the doctor for his dismissal, he hatched a plan to eliminate the doctor
The other accused have been identified as Raman and Shiv Kumar, all three residents of Karnal.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, whose hometown is Karnal, visited the family of Dr Rajiv Gupta, who was shot dead at point-blank range by three motorcycle-borne masked men late on Saturday evening when he was en route to his Amritdhara hospital at ITI Chowk in his car.
Khattar said directions have been issued to the police to prevent recurrence of such incidents.
He said new recruitments have been made to increase the strength of police force in the state and modern equipment has been provided to it.
Senior Indian National Lok Dal leader Abhay Chautala reached the hospital and condemned the incident.
Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said the Chief Minister has failed to ensure the safety of people in his own constituency.
