Maharashtra committee to check on bogus doctors
The property owners of bogus doctors, the ones who lend support to the issue, have come under the direct scanner of a committee formed in Maharashtra.
The main objective of this new committee is to keep a check on the bogus doctors at the district level in the state. Government representatives along with other experts in the medical field have been assigned this mammoth task to crack the whip on the number of existing quacks in the medical community.
The committee, comprising government officials and experts from medical field, chaired by deputy collector Vikas Gajare today met here.
"It was informed during the meeting that as many 31 bogus doctors were identified in rural areas since last year and action was being taken against them", an official said.
"It was suggested during the meeting that action be taken against property owners who rent their premise," he said. District Health Officer B R Sonawane also said that action is being taken against quacks.
