MARD threaten to go on an indefinite strike from Thursday Morning

Mumbai: Following inaction after the strike of resident doctors at GMCH Nagpur, yesterday on the termination of Dr Makrand Vyawahare, Central MARD has threatened to hold a Maharashtra wide strike if the demands are not met by Wednesday evening.

This comes after doctor and medical students of GMCH went on an indefinite strike yesterday as a mark of protest against the authorities who still have done an enquiry against the accused doctor. Supporting the striking doctors, the press note of Central MARD stated " The nagpur incident.. where one resident doctor tried to commit , female resident doctor filed a complain of sexual harassment and 1000 undergraduates complained against 1 person is very serious.. Just because he is a relative of finance minister, he cannot be given special treatment.The medical education secretary office, DMER and GMC Nagpur dean have failed to perform their duty. As a result, left with no other option, Central MARD has decided to go on an indefinite strike from Thursday morning, 8 am all over Maharahstra."
