Cuttack Hospital Faces Medical Negligence Allegations over Internal Injury

A case of alleged medical negligence has surfaced in Cuttack, where a 32-year-old woman has lodged a complaint against a private hospital, claiming that she suffered a serious internal injury during treatment.

The complaint, lodged at the Mangalabag Police Station, names five individuals — including the hospital owner and three doctors — for allegedly mishandling a medical procedure. It has prompted the Commissionerate Police to launch an investigation into the incident.

According to the news reports, the woman underwent an abortion at the Cuttack-based hospital on May 1. While she was discharged shortly after the procedure, she began experiencing severe abdominal pain within days. Her husband, a 35-year-old Army personnel stationed in Jammu & Kashmir, took her to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar for further evaluation. It was during this examination, she was allegedly informed that a portion of her rectum had been cut.
