 Diabetes was associated with a very constant near 2-fold increase in the risk of heart failure with presentation of Coronary Artery Disease. Avoiding the risk of Heart failure occurrence in Coronary Artery Disease patients with Diabetes mellitus is critical in daily practice and should be a constant life-long endeavour. The risk of heart failure in association with diabetes mellitus status in patients with coronary artery disease over time, from acute myocardial infarction to the chronic stable phase was brought out by a study in the journal Diabetes and Metabolism.

Diabetes is a chronic disease that is caused due to improper blood glucose levels, Hyperglycemia, or raised blood sugar, is a common effect of uncontrolled diabetes and over time leads to serious damage to many of the body's systems, especially the nerves and blood vessels. Studies have repeatedly reported adverse effects of diabetes.
