Highest Spike: Whooping 90,000 Covid Cases In 24 Hours, Active Cases Near 3L

Covid-19 pandemic continues to burden Indian health services, with increase in number of variants, and more active cases their management might be really difficult for medical department.

India registered a single-day rise of 90,928 cases, a significant rise from the previous day's 58,097. Covid cases in a span of 24 hours. A total of 325 deaths have also been reported in the same time, said the Union ministry of health and family welfare on Thursday.

With the addition of new deaths, the death toll has reached 4,82,876.

Bond Service In Andhra Pradesh: 30 Percent Reservation In Clinical, 50 In Non-Clinical Seats, Rs 15 Lakh Penalty

Medical admissions continue to be happen based on government norms as every year, however andhra pradesh state health ministry had a change of plans in the curriculum.

The NEET PG candidates who intend to pursue PG medical courses in Andhra Pradesh via in-service quota will have to pay Rs 15 lakh if they fail to render services to the state post completion of the course.

The information on this effect comes from a recent gazette issued by the state's Health and family welfare department specifying bond service rules and certain amendments made to the Andhra Pradesh Medical Colleges (Admission into Post Graduate Medical Courses) Rules, 1997.

NBE To Hold NEET MDS 2022 In March As Planned

4.Molnupiravir Has Major Safety Concerns, Hence Not Part Of National Protocol: ICMR Chief Balram Bhargava

Molnupiravir is a first known oral, direct-acting antiviral shown to be highly effective at reducing nasopharyngeal SARS-CoV-2 infectious virus and viral RNA. India's central drugs standard control organisation approved it for restricted use in emergency situations.

Pointing out to some major saftey concerns including teratogenicity, mutagenicity and also potential to cause cartilage damage and muscle damage, the ICMR Chief Dr Balram Bhargava has stated that the recently approved COVID-19 antiviral drug Molnupiravir has not been included in the national protocol for treatment of coronavirus.

5.Reserve 40% of beds in private hospitals for Covid-19 patients: Delhi govt

Government is solely responsible  for handling both economic and health crisis caused by the pandemic, it has taken some measures to atleast manage the ongoing crisis. 

The Delhi government on Tuesday directed all private hospitals and nursing homes in the national capital having a bed capacity of 50 or more, to reserve at least 40% of their total beds for Covid-19 patients.

The decision was taken in view of Omicron variant of the coronavirus leading a surge in fresh infections
