Goa HC orders completion of NEET PG 2025 counselling without altering reservation policy
The High Court of Bombay at Goa recently directed the Goa Government to complete the admission process for postgraduate medical courses at Goa Medical College for the academic year 2025-2026, without changing the reservation policy rules mid-process.
In its order, the HC bench has ordered that the admission process must be conducted strictly under the rules that were in force as of November 3, 2025. With this direction, the court has ensured that the PG medical admission process gets completed under the existing reservation policy.
148 EWS category students secure Rs 1 crore Management, NRI quota seats; NMC orders state-level probe
Around 148 students belonging to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category have secured their PG medical admission by getting enrolled in the expensive management and NRI quota seats in private medical colleges during the first round of counselling for the post-graduate courses this year, the Indian Express has reported.
Consequently, the admission of such students, who come from a weaker financial background, and their willingness to pay exorbitant fees, which can go as high as Rs 1 crore per year, has drawn the attention of the Apex Medical Education Regulatory Body- the National Medical Commission.

Bengal doctor slapped Rs 2.5 lakh compensation for Tinea corporis treatment lapse, no medical negligence found
The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) recently directed a doctor from West Bengal to pay Rs 2.5 lakh to a patient, whose skin condition did not improve despite undergoing treatment.
Even though the Apex Consumer Court found the allegations of medical negligence in the diagnosis of the disease and administration of steroids as false, it noted that the patient's condition did not improve, and she had to suffer a lot for not having received the benefits of the treatment administered by the treating doctor.
