NEET UG Leak Case: Court Allows Accused to Keep Books for Retest Preparation
A Delhi court has allowed an accused in the NEET UG 2026 paper leak case to access study materials while in judicial custody so he can prepare for the re-examination scheduled on June 21. Special Judge Ajay Gupta of the Rouse Avenue Court granted the request filed by a 20-year-old NEET aspirant, citing the right to life and personal liberty guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution. The court observed that the accused’s desire to continue his education and use his time constructively deserved consideration, while directing jail authorities to permit access to books after proper security checks.
The court, however, imposed conditions, requiring him to submit a list of books that can be supplied only through family members or authorised counsel. Jail authorities have been directed to inspect the materials and confiscate any content deemed objectionable or a security risk, reports The Indian Express.
According to the CBI, which is probing the alleged paper leak, He has received leaked NEET question papers through Telegram and allegedly sold them for ₹10 lakh. Investigators claim he played a key role in distributing the leaked material, though the case remains under judicial consideration.
NBEMS Releases NEET MDS 2026 Cut-Off, Toppers List and Scorecards
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has declared the results of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test for Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) 2026.
Candidates who appeared for the entrance examination, conducted on May 2, 2026, can now check their scores and All India ranks on the official NBEMS website. Along with the results, NBEMS has also announced the category-wise qualifying cut-off scores required for admission to MDS courses for the 2026-27 academic session.

FMGs Stage Protest After Rajasthan Medical Council Suspends Registrations Citing Online Learning
Several medical graduates from abroad protested at the Rajasthan Medical Council headquarters recently after the Council reportedly halted their permanent registration, citing their online classes during their undergraduate medical course.
The students have alleged that despite passing the screening test i.e. Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), which is mandatory to practice medicine in India, the RMC Registrar has withheld their registration.

23,000 Medical Seats Added, 75,000 More Planned: JP Nadda at AIIMS Bhatinda convocation
"Government is committed to adding 75,000 more UG and PG medical seats over the next five years, with nearly 23,000 seats already established during the last two years," the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Shri JP Nadda, recently stated during the 2nd Convocation Ceremony of AIIMS Bathinda.
In his address, the minister said that the number of AIIMS institutions has increased to 23, medical colleges have grown from 387 to over 820, undergraduate medical seats have increased from about 59,000 to more than 1.28 lakh, and postgraduate seats from around 31,000 to over 86,000.
