Highlighting the "undeniable need for maintaining the quality of education, especially in the field of medicine", the Bombay High Court recently upheld the dismissal of an MBBS student, who had challenged the annulment of his exam results and consequent disqualification from getting promoted to the second year.
However, the Court observed that the University's regulations ensuring academic integrity in medical education were neither excessive nor unfair.
During the flight on January 30, the cabin crew announced a medical emergency after a female passenger who was also a cardiac patient collapsed. It came to light that the passenger had suffered a stroke. Although a few doctors were present on board, Dr. Prathima Raj was the first to respond, swiftly initiating treatment. Using the emergency medical kit provided by the flight staff, she performed CPR, stabilizing the patient before landing, reports Deccan Chronicle.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recently declared that a Medical College and Hospital would be established in Banka district. This institute is aimed at providing quality treatment facilities for patients of the district and its surrounding areas.
Kumar during his " Pragati Yatra " in Banka District, said that state government had taken a decision to established a Medical College and Hospital and a plot had also been selected for the purpose.
