NMC: Only MBBS doctors can register on NMR portal, additional qualifications option coming soon
The Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has suggested that doctors access the National Medical Register (NMR) portal only through the Commission's website for the sake of authenticity. Further, the Apex Medical Commission's Ethics Board has also stated that currently, only the provision for the Registration of Basic Qualification (MBBS) is available on the NMR portal and the provision for Registration of additional qualification(s) would be made available on the portal shortly.
NMC EMRB mentioned these details in a recent notice, which was shared by the Commission to inform about the commencement of registration of RMPs on the National Medical Register portal.

The recently released Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) 2024 guidelines have drawn flak as two activists representing the disabled and transgender people recently wrote to the Union Health Minister and the National Medical Commission (NMC) alleging how these guidelines violated the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act (RPDA) 2016 and the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act (TPA) 2019.
As per the activists, the newly released MBBS curriculum listed sodomy and lesbianism as "unnatural sexual offences" and also removed the Disability Competencies, which should have been longitudinally throughout the curriculum in AETCOM, from the guidelines. An RTI has also been filed in respect to the latter.

UP Govt dismisses 26 medical officers for neglecting duty
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak announced on Monday that orders have been issued for the termination of 26 medical officers across various districts due to unauthorized absences and negligence in their duties. This decisive action reflects the state government's commitment to ensuring accountability and maintaining high standards of healthcare services.
The process for their dismissal has been started at the government level, Pathak, who is also the Minister for Health, Medical and Family Welfare, said in a series of online posts. Pathak said he has assigned the responsibility to the principal secretary (health) to seek clarification from the joint director of the Directorate General of Health. Apart from this, instructions have also been given to stop the salary increment of several medical officers and give them censure entries, reports PTI.

NEET PG 2024: Merit list and cut-off marks for 50% seats released, counselling schedule to be announced soon All applicant candidates for NEET PG 2024 are informed that the individual scorecards with respect to Result and scorecard All India 50% Quota Seats have been released by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
NEET-PG 2024 was conducted on 11th August, 2024 and the result was declared by NBEMS on 23rd August, 2024.
The merit list in respect of admission to All India 50% quota MD/MS/Post Graduate Diploma Courses/Post MBBS DNB/ Direct 6 years DrNB Courses and NBEMS Diploma Courses (2024-25 admission session) has been declared and can be seen at NBEMS website.
