NEET MDS 2026 Tentatively Scheduled for May 2

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will likely conduct the National Eligibility and Entrance Test for Master of Dental Surgery, NEET MDS exam for the academic year 2026 on May 2, 2026.

The exam will be conducted online in a computer-based mode and will be three hours long, expected to be held from 2 PM to 5 PM.

Doctors’ Body Seeks Additional Mercy Exam Attempt for MBBS 2021 Batch

Citing the academic disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, a doctors' body in Rajasthan has urged the State Medical Education Department to grant one additional Mercy Attempt to MBBS students from the 2021 batch to clear their First Professional Examination.

The Rajasthan Chapter of United Doctors Front (UDF) highlighted that students under the MBBS curriculum are currently given a maximum of four attempts to pass the First Professional Year. However, the students of Batch 2021 went through extraordinary and adverse circumstances, which were different from normal academic sessions.

Five Children Test HIV-Positive After Blood Transfusion, Jharkhand HC Orders FIR

A case of alleged medical negligence at Chaibasa Sadar Hospital blood bank in West Singhbhum district has resurfaced after five minor thalassemia patients contracted HIV through blood transfusions, prompting the Jharkhand High Court to direct the immediate registration of a First Information Report (FIR).

The five children aged between five and seven years of age affected were dependent on regular transfusions as part of their long-term clinical care, and were infected last year, raising serious concerns over transfusion safety and blood screening practices in public healthcare facilities.

Fake FMGE Certificates for Internships: 2 Held, 73 More Face Probe

The Rajasthan Police’s Special Operations Group has arrested individuals for allegedly using forged Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) certificates to obtain internships through the Rajasthan Medical Council.

The prime accused, reportedly, an MBBS graduate from Kazakhstan, is accused of masterminding the racket and supplying fake FMGE certificates to multiple candidates after they failed to clear the mandatory exam. He was detained at New Delhi airport after travelling across several countries to evade arrest.
