Nalhar: In a shocking incident of violence against medical professionals, a resident doctor in the department of paediatrics at Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College (SHKM GMC), Nalhar, was allegedly assaulted by a female attendant along with 4-5 men.
In protest against the alleged brutal attack on the doctor, the Resident Doctors' Association has declared a pen-down strike from August 13, followed by cessation of all emergency services from 14 August till the miscreants are punished.

AIIMS Exodus Deepens as 429 Faculty Quit in 3 years
New Delhi: Altogether 429 faculty members have resigned from various All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) during the last three years. Among them, 52 faculty members belonged to AIIMS New Delhi, the Union Minister of State for Health, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, informed the Rajya Sabha recently.
Minister Jadhav shared the data in this regard in response to the queries raised by MP Shri Ramji Lal Suman who questioned if the doctors from various AIIMS, including AIIMS, New Delhi, are leaving their jobs and joining the private sector.

Himachal Pradesh issues advisory after Third Scrub Typhus Death
The Himachal Pradesh health department has issued an advisory on scrub typhus disease following the season's third death reported at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla.
The latest victim, 34-year-old Saroj, was referred from Civil Hospital Rohru with severe sepsis and septic shock. She was admitted to IGMC on August 8, 2025, and tested positive for scrub typhus the next day.
