Top Court Turns Down Plea for Additional Stray Round in NEET PG 2025
While hearing a case seeking a Round 5 or Special Stray Vacancy Round for NEET PG 2025 counselling after the National Medical Commission (NMC) refused to conduct the session, the Supreme Court declined to entertain the plea stating that no additional round would be allowed beyond the deadline.
Dismissing the writ petition, a division bench comprising Justice P S Narasimha and Justice Alok Aradhe made it clear that it would not intervene in the counselling process at this stage.

MCC Issues Official Notification on Commencement of NEET SS 2025 Session
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), has issued a clarification regarding the commencement of the academic session for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Super Speciality (NEET SS) courses for the academic year 2025-26, stating that the session will be considered to have begun from April 10, 2026.
As per the notice issued in this regard, this clarification comes in continuation of an earlier notice. The MCC has specified that the start of the academic session will align with the schedule of SS Counselling 2025, thereby formally recognising April 10, 2026, as the official commencement date.
