Doctors to get 60 days of relief time before State Medical Council's disciplinary action: NMC board

Providing the doctors with sufficient time for making an appeal, the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has recently directed the State Medical Councils to implement actions including suspension or termination from service after 60 days from the date of order.

Therefore, from now on, the State Medical Council action orders will be implemented against a doctor after the 2 months appeal period is over. Such an order has been issued by the NMC board as it took note of the fact that even though some State Councils execute their orders after the completion of the appeal period, all of them do not adhere to this norm

Doctor pharma nexus unearthed: Post Micro Labs IT raid, Health Minister directs NMC to probe doctor involvements with pharma

The recent set of IT raids on the manufacturer of Dolo 650, Micro Labs has now led to a cascading effect on the medical profession with the government now moving to launch a separate and special investigation to unearth the unethical connections that the pharma company had with the doctors.

As a part of the raid, several names of doctors who have taken freebies from the said pharma company have come into the scanner with the Union Health Minister now directing the apex medical regulator to launch its investigation into the matter

In the ongoing battle with diseases like dengue and typhoid, Telangana has been also a victim of tomato flu, which takes its name after the blisters it causes, which look like tomatoes.

The fever is also known as hand, foot, and mouth disease and is highly contagious is prevalent in pre-primary children.


The Top 10 Private medical colleges as per NIRF

The ranking of top medical colleges across the country, based on the government's National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF), has been released by the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

In private medical colleges category, the Christian Medical College, Vellore (CMC Vellore) has been ranked on top in the country with the score of 72.84, although the actual ranking of the college is at the 3rd position in the NIRF ranking list.
