Taking up the issue of leave denial to DNB medicos, the doctors under the umbrella of the Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA) have knocked on the doors of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) once again.
Pointing out that the Final year DNB doctors serving the mandatory extension period are being denied any leaves, FORDA in a letter directed to the Executive Director of NBEMS has referred to the fact that the doctors appointed even on Ad-hoc basis are entitled to leaves.

No exam relief for MCh doctor who took 200 plus medical leaves during COVID pandemic
Observing that the requirements of training and attendance, particularly in the matter of professional courses, are beyond the remit of the court, the Delhi High Court recently denied condoning the 'excessive leaves' taken by a doctor by allowing him appear in the end-term examination of the super specialty course that he is currently pursuing.
Such observation has come from the High Court bench comprising of Justice Prateek Jalan while it was considering the plea of a doctor who was compelled to take extra leaves on account of contracting Covid-19 while treating patients.

Internship in India not mandatory if done already in abroad: Kerala HC to Foreign Medical Graduates
In a landmark judgment for the foreign medical graduates, the Kerala High Court has recently clarified that a person after obtaining medical qualification from abroad should be eligible for being granted State Medical Council registration in India if he has already completed one-year internship abroad.
To be more specific, the High Court bench comprising of Justice PB Suresh Kumar has recently made it clear that medical graduates who have already done their one year internship abroad, need not do another internship in India for obtaining registration as a doctor in India.

Bombay HC restrains firm from infringing Sun Pharma trademark Prolomet
The Bombay High Court has noted an ad-interim injunction restraining the Salud Care (India) Private from using trademark PROLOMEK or any other trademark that is identical with or deceptively or confusingly similar to Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd's mark PROLOMET.
The order was issued during a hearing conducted by G S Patel through video conferencing, deliberating the case filed by Sun Pharma. The counsel for Sun Pharma informed the court that in April 2021, Sun Pharma learned that Salud Care (India) Private markets a pharmaceutical preparation for the treatment of hypertension with tachycardia, angina, hyperthyroidism, and myocardial infarction with the same based drug, Metoprolol Succinate, under the trade mark PROLOMEK.
