Expressing concerns about possible bias by an Insurance company that sanctioned Rs 25 lakh for the cashless treatment of actor Saif Ali Khan for his recent treatment at Lilavati Hospital, a doctors' body has written to the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and demanded an investigation.
The Association of Medical Consultants (AMC) expressed concern over the fact that Saif Ali Khan was possibly given "preferential treatment" by the insurance company, compared to the benefits available to the common policyholders.

Despite the earlier order issued by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) directing the government medical colleges in the State to appoint retired professors by bestowing them with the title of Professor Emeritus, no appointment has been made in this regard in the medical colleges across Madhya Pradesh.
Earlier, the State DME had issued an order directing the Deans of the government medical colleges and dental institutes to designate all the re-employed faculties as Professor Emeritus. After that, the DME did not follow up on the matter. However, the DME Director has opined that it is open to interested persons to apply for the post to DME. He further said that no one seemed to be interested in joining the post.

In a tragic incident, an MBBS intern at Rama University recently died of a heart attack while on duty. The medico has been identified as a 26 year old MBBS intern at Rama Medical College in Kanpur.
According to a recent report by Jagran, on Friday afternoon, while on duty, she collapsed suddenly after leaving the pediatric ward. Despite being rushed to the ICU immediately, doctors were unable to revive her, and she was declared dead during treatment.
