Rs 53 lakh bond for AFMC PG medical admissions this year 

For this academic year admissions, the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) has imposed the Bond Service rule of levying Rs 53 lakh if five-year compulsory service is not provided by the MD, MS, and DNB medicos after completing their courses.

At the time of admission, as per the information bulletin, the MD, MS and DNB Civilian candidates are required to sign a bond calling 5 years of compulsory service with the armed forces after completion of their courses.

NBE On The Hunt For Executive Director

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is looking for an experienced medical professional to take the position of its Executive Director. For the same, the NBEMS has invited applications from eligible and desirous candidates for the post of Executive Director on a deputation basis for 3 years extendable by 2 years.

The last date to apply is 31st January 2022. All eligible Officers of the Medical Services of the Central Government/ State Govt./ Defence Services / Railways / AIIMS / PGIMERs / Govt. Medical Colleges / Govt. Medical Institutions etc., are encouraged to apply for the said post.

 Vaccination To Start For 15-18 Age Group But Some Call Decision Unscientific

The recent announcement by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that vaccination against COVID-19 for children in the 15 to 18 age group will start from January 3 has been termed "unscientific" saying it will not yield any additional benefit.

A senior epidemiologist at AIl India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Dr Sanjay K Rai, who is the principal investigator of Covaxin trials for adults and children at the institute on Sunday termed the Centre's move to vaccinate children against Covid "unscientific" and said it will not yield any additional benefit.

Delhi Police Detains Protesting Doctors, Logs Rioting Case

The peaceful protest by resident doctors in Delhi over the delay in NEET-PG 2021 counselling took an ugly turn after the medics were lathi-charged and "brutally thrashed, dragged, and detained" by the Delhi Police on Monday.

This police brutality triggered the doctors who have now called for a nationwide strike from 29th December 2021. A complete shutdown of all healthcare institutions will be observed.
