No postponement of NEET PG 2023 says Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has dismissed all petitions seeking NEET PG 2023 postponement and with this, the candidates will now have to appear on the scheduled date, March 05, 2023.

A bench comprising Justices S Ravindra Bhat presided over the matter and issued the order.

The matter of NEET PG postponement had been disturbing thousands of candidates as despite several requests, the authorities including NBE and the health ministry have been denying postponing the examination.

NMC nod for 150 MBBS seats in Vizianagaram Govt Medical College

Bringing good news to the medical aspirants in Andhra Pradesh, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has given its approval for the new government medical college in Vizianagaram.

After inspecting the facilities and infrastructure of the medical college on February 3, apex medical education regulatory body has given permission to the medical colleges for 150 MBBS Seats and the college will start functioning from the next academic year.

NBE likely to remain autonomous from NMC

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS, NBE), the body in charge of conducting NEET PG, NEET SS and other medical exams, as well as the regulator of various DNB and FNB courses, is likely to remain independent of the National Medical Commission (NMC), reliable sources from the medical fraternity have informed Medical Dialogues.

With this, the previous proposal of the Union Health Ministry of dissolving the NBEMS and replacing it with the proposed Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (BEMS) may not see the light of the day.

Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital is a major state-owned hospital situated in Chennai, India. Founded in 1664 by the British East India Company, it is the first modern hospital in India. The hospital has more than 52 operation theatres, besides intensive care units and post-operative wards.
