Cabinet appoints executive directors at 7 AIIMS    

In a major recruitment drive, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has given its nod for the Health Ministry's proposal regarding the appointment in the post of Executive Director at AIIMS Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Patna, Rishikesh, Guwahati, Awantipora and Darbhanga.

While Ajai Singh, Prof. & Head, Paediatric Orthopedic, KGMU Lucknow, has been appointed in Bhopal AIIMS, Ashutosh Biswas, Prof & Head of Unit, D/O Medicine, AIMS Delhi, will head AIIMS Bhubaneshwar. In case of AIIMS Patna and AIIMS RIshikesh, Gopal Krushna Pal, Prof. Physiology, JIPMER and Meenu Singh, Prof. of Paediatrics and Head, D/O Telemedicine, PGIMER Chandigarh have been appointed for the posts of Executive Director.

MNR medical college students to be reallocated on the basis of merit and availability of seats: NMC informs High Court

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has recently informed the Telangana High Court that the guidelines for reallocating students of MNR Medical College have already been communicated to all the stakeholders on May 18, 2022.

Filing an affidavit before the HC bench, the NMC undersecretary Prabhat Kumar further informed that as per the guidelines, the students shall be reallocated on the basis of their merit and the availability of seats in the medical college where they are being reallocated.

Gurugram: Illegal sex determination racket busted, doctor among three arrested

In a raid carried out by the health department at an ultrasound clinic near Haileymandi on Pataudi road, three people comprising a doctor have been arrested for allegedly running a prenatal sex determination racket, informed the police.

The Hindustan Times reports that the police informed that the accused had charged around Rs 75,000 per family/pregnant woman from Delhi, Jhajjar, Pataudi and other neighbouring areas who came there for determining the sex of the foetus after registering them using fake names in the clinic.

The work could start explaining why women experience heart disease differently than men do.
