NEET PG 2026: Check Exam-Day Guidelines, Documents and Banned Items
The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is going to conduct the NEET PG 2026 Exam for the academic year 2026-27 on 30 August 2026. Candidates appearing for the exam must know the complete test-day procedures.
The concerned candidates are advised to take note of the following points as per the NEET PG 2026 exam Information Bulletin. NBEMS shall be conducting the Computer-Based Test (CBT) in a safe and secure environment, maintaining social distancing norms wherever needed.

PG Medical Seat Expansion Raises Clinical Training Concerns, Parliamentary Panel Warns
Concerned over the rapid growth in PG medical seats without adequate clinical exposure and proper training, a Parliamentary Committee on Health and Family Welfare has recommended that the expansion of undergraduate and postgraduate seats should be undertaken only after ensuring quality education, adequate training and sufficient clinical exposure.
In its 176th report on 'Affordability and Accessibility of Healthcare facilities in Public and Private Sector' before the Parliament on August 7, 2026, the Department-related Parliamentary Committee on Health and Family Welfare opined that the recent Cabinet approval adding over 10,000 new medical and PG seats (scaling to 75,000 over five years) is a right step toward correcting the doctor-population ratio.

FMGE 2026: NBEMS to Conduct Additional Exam on October 31
In a major change for foreign medical graduates, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has recently decided to conduct the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) three times a year.
The examination will continue to be held through a computer-based platform at centres across the country.

Patient Charged ICCU Fees Despite General Ward Treatment, Consumer Court Orders Rs 2.75 Lakh Compensation
The State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (SCDRC), West Bengal, recently directed a private hospital, empanelled with the 'Swasthya Sathi' scheme, to refund Rs 2 lakh to a patient after it found that he was billed for an ICCU bed while being treated in a general ward.
Further, the Commission directed the hospital to pay Rs 50,000 as compensation to the patient and Rs 25,000 as costs of litigation.
