Right to Health Bill protest escalates: IMA calls for National Bandh

While the protest against the Right to Health Bill entered the 16th Day on Monday, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has announced nationwide Solidarity Day on Tuesday i.e. April 04, 2023.

The IMA announcement in this regard has come when the Rajasthan branch of IMA appealed to the national office bearers for their support by giving a call for a Nationwide bandh of healthcare facilities.

Telangana fee panel to review MBBS, PG medical, SS, Dental, AYUSH courses fee structure of private medical colleges

In a recent notification, the Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (TAFRC) has announced its proposal to review and determine fee structures of private unaided professional institutes in the State for the block period 2023-2024 to 2025-2026.

TAFRC will review the fee structures for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Super Speciality medical courses, UG and PG Dental courses, Nursing, BAMS, BHMS, Homeopathy, and several paramedical courses.

NMC releases guidelines on professional responsibilities of medical teachers, Details

With an aim to improve the quality of medical teaching and reduce the gaps in learning, the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the guidelines on "Professional Responsibilities of Medical Teachers."

Releasing these new guidelines in the public domain, the NMC Ethics board mentioned "It will be prudent that Medical Education Unit (MEU) in medical colleges use these guidelines to train teachers."

No Health benefits of alcohol 

In this updated systematic review and meta-analysis of 107 studies involving more than 4.8 million participants, daily low or moderate alcohol intake was not significantly associated with all-cause mortality risk, while increased risk was evident at higher consumption levels, starting at lower levels for women than men.
