Mandatory yoga for MBBS: NMC releases common yoga protocol to be followed by all

Referring to the 10 days mandatory Yoga training in the new MBBS Curriculum, the Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has informed about the common YOGA protocol.

Issuing a circular in this regard, the Apex Medical Education Regulatory Body NMC has informed that such a common YOGA protocol is being developed by the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga under Ministry of AYUSH with an aim to maintain uniformity of the course.

E-Pharmacy giant Amazon under Maha FDA radar for selling MTP kits without prescription

The Maharashtra FDA has registered an offence against Amazon for selling Abortion Drugs on line allegedly illegally.

The Assistant Commissioner of FDA Ganesh Rokade stated in an official release here that the Food and Drugs Administration had observed that abortion drugs were being sold illegally on online portals through the internet. In order to verify this, the demand for MTP kit without prescription was registered on online sales portals. It was found that the abortion medicine under the brand name A-Kare was available on the online portal amazon.in. The demand for the MTP kit drug was accepted by the amazon.in without the requisite prescription of the registered medical Practitioner. The MTP Kit by the brand name of 'A kare' Tablet was received; however the sale bill of the drug was not received along with the courier parcel. This administration inquired about the sale of above MTP drug to Amazon Sellers Services Pvt Ltd, it was informed that the drug was supplied from Orissa.

NEET PG 2022 postponement demand escalates

The demands for postponing the PG medical entrance examination, NEET-PG 2022 is escalating day by day as the All India Medical Students' Association (AIMSA) is planning to approach the Supreme Court on May 4 in this matter.

Confirming this, the National President of AIMSA, Dr. Jitendra Singh Tweeted, "@official_aimsa will file a petition for postponement of NEET PG2022 in the Hon'ble Supreme Court on 4th May 2022. #AIMSA will always fight justice for medical students. We request all medical associations to join in this fight for justice for medical students."

Don't Blame the dean, blame us says MBBS students of Madurai Medical College

The Madurai Medical College student council has said that it had organized the "white coat oath ceremony" for freshers and that the college authorities were not aware of it.

The student council leaders, in a press conference, said that they had preferred the Maharishi 'Charak Shapath' instead of the traditional 'Hippocratic Oath' as the National Medical Commission (NMC) had recommended it.

SII lowers price of each dose of Covovax from Rs 900 to Rs 225

A day after its Covid shot Covovax was included on the CoWIN portal for inoculation of children aged 12-17 years at private vaccination centres, the Serum Institute of India (SII) on Tuesday reduced the price of each dose of the vaccine from Rs 900 to Rs 225, excluding taxes.

Following recommendation of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) the provision of the vaccine option was included on the portal on Monday.
