Centre says no plans for new AIIMS in Punjab under current scheme

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has confirmed that there are no plans to establish a new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Punjab. This was stated by the Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, in response to a query in the Lok Sabha.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), the government has so far approved the establishment of 22 AIIMS across various states and union territories, including one in Punjab at Bathinda, which is already functional.
