Demanding a Diwali Bonus for junior and senior resident doctors on similar lines of the BMC employees, the Maharashtra State brand of the Indian Medical Association ( IMA Maharashtra) has now written a letter to Shri Eknath Shinde, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

As per the policy of the state government, a bonus of Rs. 22500 will be provided by the government to the BMC employees and a salary to the healthcare workers. Stating the junior resident doctors and the senior resident doctors worked as frontline COVID WARRIORS, the Indian Medical Association requested the government to consider them a part of the special Diwali Bonus.
