Anemia a risk factor of Chronic Kidney Disease in kids

Anemia is a condition in which person lacks enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to your body's tissues, this is a major trouble as it stresses the kidney beyond limits. Anemia is one of the most common complications of chronic kidney disease in children.

A cross sectional pilot study published in Clinical Nutrition revealed that it is responsible for a significant amount of morbidity resulting in poorer quality of life, the impact of anemia with cardiac changes in children with chronic kidney disease. Hence, chronic kidney disease children with anemia should be screened for underlying cardiac dysfunction.
