Exercise to reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease

Frequent and regular physical exercise is an important component in the prevention of some diseases such as heart disease, cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes and obesity. Physical fitness has been linked to a lower risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD), but even moderate levels of cardiorespiratory fitness offer some protection.

The Study will be presented in American Academy of Neurology. The findings suggest that people can work toward making incremental changes and improvements in their physical fitness, which may help decrease their risk of dementia. The fact that you can reduce risk for Alzheimer's disease by simply increasing activity levels is very promising, especially since there are no adequate treatments to prevent or stop the progression of the disease.
