NMC approves 187 more postgraduate medical seats after review appeals

Through a recent notice, the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has notified about 187 additional postgraduate seats granted by the First Appeal Committee against the decision of MARB.

"In reference to the appeals preferred by Medical Colleges under Section 28(5) of the NMC Act, 2019 against the decisions of the MARB for the seats granted during Academic Year 2025–26, the matter was examined by the First Appeal Committee. The list of seats granted by the First Appeal Committee is attached herewith for the information of all stakeholders. The LOPs for these sanctioned PG seats for AY 2025-26 will be issued shortly. The counselling authorities need not wait for the LOPs from institutions to include them in the counselling process. This list uploaded on the website shall be considered as valid document for counselling process," the President of MARB, Dr. M K Ramesh mentioned in the notice dated 20.12.2025.
