The Central Government has clarified that no proposal to establish an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kerala has been included in the current phase of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), despite repeated requests from the State Government.

Responding to a series of questions, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav stated that the Kerala government had informed the Centre about the identification of land in Kinaloor, Kozhikode district, for the establishment of an AIIMS in 2025. However, he stated that “there is no proposal for the establishment of AIIMS in Kerala in the current phase of PMSSY.”
