Medico-Legal Tip of the day-16th Nov 2015
Query- what we should do if a patient has been sent for a procedure and asked to get readmitted once the procedure is over and patient does not get readmitted .
His part payment in the hospital is pending and after some weeks he dies.
Kindly guide on this.
Thanks

Answer- We have to understand and bear trivial losses as part of business . Such possibility as you have mentioned can happen but is rare. Legally speaking, you can recover your part payment from legal heirs of patient but in practicality it does not make sense as cost of recovery would be more than payment itself. Take it as part of business loss and move forward.
