Ahmedabad: In a recent announcement by the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC), it has been revealed that 663 seats in undergraduate medical and dental programs remain vacant following the conclusion of the second round of admissions.

This development comes as a significant update in the ongoing admissions process, where students are vying for coveted spots in medical and dental courses.

Out of the total 6,573 allotted seats in the MBBS course, a substantial number of 6,336 students have successfully confirmed their admissions. However, there are 237 seats that have remained unoccupied due to students failing to confirm their admissions, as per TOI report.

The committee allocated a total of 1,119 seats in the BDS course, and 693 students have effectively secured their admissions by completing the necessary tuition fee payments. Regrettably, the remaining 426 seats have gone unclaimed due to non-reporting by the eligible candidates.

For those students who were unable to confirm their admissions, the committee has made the decision to forfeit their security deposits. To be eligible for any forthcoming admission rounds, these students will need to submit a regulation fee of INR 11,000.

The Admission Committee has also outlined the details for the upcoming third round of admissions. This round is scheduled to commence on September 6th and will conclude on September 11th. To participate in the third round, students are required to obtain their admission pins through an online process and complete their registration between September 6th and September 10th. Moreover, students must ensure the verification of their original documents at designated help centers during the period spanning from September 6th to September 11th.
