Rishikesh: The application process for admission to MSc Courses for August 2023 has begun. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS Rishikesh) has released a detailed prospectus.

The duly filled-in application, along with necessary documents and application fee, should reach “Examination Cell, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh (Uttarakhand)- 249203 on or before 30.06.2023 at 5:00 PM through registered post/speed post only. The exam will be conducted on 18.07.2023, and the admit card will be released on 14.07.2023.

Application Fee – online payment mode -

1. General / OBC Category: Rs.1500/- + Transaction Charges as applicable

2. SC/ST/EWS Category: Rs. 1200/- + Transaction Charges as applicable

3. PWD Candidates are exempted from any Fee

OBC Caste Certificate to be produced from 18.07.2022 to 17.07.2023 (as per the format attached). SC/ST Caste Certificate to be produced as per the format attached. EWS Certificate to be produced from 01.04.2023 to 17.07.2023. (as per the format attached in the notice below).

Submission of application by candidates who are employed –

The Institute does not have any objection if the candidates in employment apply directly for various courses. However, all such candidates should inform their employer in writing that they are applying for the Entrance Examination. Suppose any communication is received from their department/office withholding permission for the candidate’s appearance at the entrance examination/admission to the course. In that case, the candidature/admission of the candidate will be canceled, and no further correspondence will be entertained.

2. MSc Medical Physiology

3. MSc Medical Pharmacology

4. MSc Perfusion Technology

Eligibility –

MSc -

The candidate must possess one of the following qualifications and have secured at least 60% marks for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS candidates (55% marks in case of SC/ST candidates) in aggregate in the qualifying examination -

1. MBBS/BDS (55% for Gen/OBC(NCL)/EWS & 50% for SC/ST Categories)

2. BV Sc

3. B Pharmacy

4. Bachelor of Physiotherapy (4½ year course)

5. BSc degree of minimum three years duration in any subject

The admission requirements for MSc Medical Biochemistry, Medical Physiology, and Medical Pharmacology are the same as mentioned above, but the requirements for Perfusion Technology will be as mentioned below -

Perfusion Technology –BSc degree in Perfusion Technology or equivalent from a recognized University.

Candidates, who are due to appear at the qualifying examination or have already appeared and are awaiting results, can also apply for admission, but such candidates must furnish –

1. Proof of passing the qualifying examination on or before 31 July 2023 with the requisite percentage of marks and subjects failing which their performance at the Entrance Examination will not be considered

2. All selected candidates for MSc courses are required to furnish the proof of recognition of their colleagues at the time of verification of their documents

Declaration of Results –

Results for MSc will be only available on the website at www.aiimsrishikesh.edu.in Results of individual candidates will not be informed by telephone. Candidates are advised not to call Examination Section for such information. However, the individual result can be checked after the declaration of the final result from the website.

Selected candidates have to join within the timeline indicated by the Academic Section, AIIMS, in the offer letter issued to the respective candidate after the due process of admission. No candidate will be admitted to the courses in any circumstances beyond 30th September of the year of admission.

Method of counseling/seat allocation –

1. Counselling for admission shall be held in Physical form at AIIMS Rishikesh, details of which shall be placed on the website www.aiimsrishikesh.edu.in.

2. In counseling- In each category, the number of candidates for counseling will be 8 times the number of seats. The counseling order will be General/ST/SC/OBC/EWS. The counseling will be done strictly by a combined merit list starting from Rank No. 1.

3. all candidates with 50th Percentile marks shall be eligible for counseling. In case, during the open counseling, any ST Seat remains vacant (after calling all eligible candidates of category), then this vacant seat shall be made available to SC category candidates and vice versa. Even after doing this, if any SC/ST seat remains vacant (after calling all eligible candidates ofSC/ST category), then this vacant seat shall be made available to the eligible General Category candidate. Similarly, in case of the OBC seat remains vacant after calling all eligible OBC candidates, then this vacant OBC seat shall be made available to the eligible General category candidate.

4. All disputes pertaining to the conduct of the examination by the AIIMS, Rishikesh, and the allocation of seats in various subjects by counseling will be subject to the jurisdiction of the high court of Uttarakhand.

5. The selected candidates shall undergo a medical exam by the Board appointed by the respective institute and, if found medically fit, will join the course after depositing the requisite fee.

6. They shall forfeit all their claims to the seats if they do not join by the stipulated date, and the fee they deposited will not be refunded. No candidate, in any circumstances, shall be allowed to join after 30 September 2023. While reporting for admission, candidates must bring all the relevant certificates/documents. These original documents will be kept with the institute till their completion of the course.

AIIMS has further notified that the candidates who have already pursued M.Sc. Course in any subject (but have not completed) shall be considered; however, they must report to the concerned Institute and deposit even original documents or DD of Rs. 100000 as the security deposit. The Security Deposit will be refunded back after depositing the original documents within 5 days.

The candidate confirming a seat during counseling must undergo biometric verification when joining.

Spot counseling –

If seats are vacant after open counseling, the seats will be filled by spot counseling at the AIIMS Rishikesh& information will be given in the newspaper & will also be displayed on the website of AIIMS Rishikesh. The date will be decided later on if required. 5% seats shall be reserved for PWBD Candidates; however, the duly constituted Medical Board will subject admission to medical fitness.

The candidates should bring the following documents in Original along with one set of self-Attested copies of them at the time of verification of original documents as per schedule in respect of successful candidates -

1. Admit card issued by AIIMS, Rishikesh.

2. Matriculation/High School/Higher Secondary certificate issued by Board/ University showing the applicant's date of birth.

3. Degree/Provisional passing certificate of the qualifying examination makes them eligible for admission to the course for which they are applying.

4. Detailed mark sheets of the qualifying examination showing the marks secured by the applicant.

5. ‘No objection Certificate’ if the candidate is already employed with Central / State Government /Public Undertaking.

6. Physical Disability Certificate issued from a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board.

Medical examination - The candidates selected for admission to all MSc Courses will have to undergo a medical examination by a Medical Board consisting of faculty members of the Institute. If a candidate is found medically unfit in the medical board assessment, they will not be admitted. The decision of the Board shall be final. In that case, in their place next candidate in order of merit will be admitted.

The total fee doesn’t include electricity charges. The above fees are subject to revision from time to time by the Institute, and the students admitted shall have to pay the fees as may be decided by the Institute. The fees and other charges, including Hostel rent, once paid, shall not be refunded in any case, even if a student leaves the Institute before the completion of the semester or does not join the Institute for any reason. No correspondence on this account will be entertained.

The Caution Money will, however, be refunded to those candidates who do not join the course. In case of a student leaves the course in the middle or after the completion of the course, the balance of caution money, if any, after the education of the charges due will be refunded.
