New Delhi: Through a recent notification, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a warning for all the NEET Counselling candidates seeking MBBS admissions this year that a fake allotment letter released in the name of MCC is being circulated all over social media. The MCC has confirmed that no such letter has been issued under its authority.

The fake allotment letter on "applicant nomination form for central government nominee quota for getting admission to UG medical course in a medical institution under National Medical Commission Act 2019 " framed by some unscrupulous elements comprises the format of candidates' details, list of documents required, instructions, and declaration details.

Hence, with the same tampering with the interest of MBBS aspirants, the MCC has now issued a clarification informing that no such letter has been issued by it. The notice clearly states:

Students are allotted seats on the basis of merit and choices filled by them through MCC software which can be downloaded only by the successful candidates from MCC website.

Sharing the image of the fake allotment letter, the MCC said that it does not allot seats on a nomination basis and reiterated that no such letter has been issued by the committee.

The counselling authority has further advised the concerned students and candidates not to take cognizance of such fake letters and also not to forward or share fake information to any other groups. "Necessary action will be taken against any person indulging in such malicious activities," it said.

Candidates have also been advised to lodge a complaint in Cyber Crime Cell or an FIR in case they receive such letters and bring the matter to notice of concerned authorities.
