Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that aspirants were confused over the date of the NEET-PG 2024 examination after media reports started speculating that the NEET PG 2024 examination would be held in the first week of July.

Earlier releasing the tentative schedule of exams, NBE had last year announced that the NEET PG 2024 will tentatively be conducted on 3rd March, 2024. However, the recent media reports contradicted such possibility.

Sources informed PTI that the exam is likely to be held in the first week of July and the counselling is likely to be held in the first week of August. Further, the sources informed that the National Exit Test (NExT) examination will not be held this year.

ANI reported that the COVID-19 disruption is one of the major concerns behind this recommendation, as students will complete their internship by June-July 2024.

Naturally, this latest piece of information has created confusion among the aspirants who raised the matter on social media platforms, and sought clarity from the authorities.

Amid this situation, Dr. Yogender Malilk, a member of the National Medical Commission's Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) and the Head of the Media Division at the Commission advised students to wait for the official notification in this regard, instead of jumping to conclusions.

Finally, issuing a notice today, NBE confirmed that the exam has been rescheduled to be held on July 07, 2024. "In supersession of NBEMS notice dated 09.11.2023 and pursuant to the receipt of NMC letter No. N-P018(20)/7/2023-PGMEB-NMC/000587 dated 03.01.2024, the conduct of NEET-PG 2024 examination which was earlier notified to be tentatively held on 3rd March 2024 stands rescheduled," stated the notice issued by NBE.

"The NEET-PG 2024 shall now be conducted on 7th July 2024," NBE further mentioned in the notice, adding that the "cut-off date for the purpose of eligibility to appear in the NEET-PG 2024 shall be 15th August 2024."

However, NBE has once again specified that these dates are purely tentative and advised the candidates to check for the exam dates of examinations from the Information Bulletins and NBEMS website.

"The candidates are advised to check the exact dates of examinations from the Information Bulletins/ NBEMS website as the above dates are purely tentative and subject to approvals & confirmations," mentioned the notice.

"Please refer to NBEMS website https://natboard.edu.in for Information Bulletins, Application Forms and other details of these examinations as and when notified," it added.

For any query/clarification/assistance, NBE has advised the candidates to write to NBEMS at its Communication Web Portal
