Amid Uncertainty over the NEET PG 2024 Exam Date, NBE official Website got suspended
New Delhi: Amid the uncertainty regarding the date for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) examination, the official website of the National Board of Examinations (NBE) got suspended by Google.
The website of nbe.edu.in read, "This Account has been suspended. Contact your hosting provider for more information." Although there was no official statement on the suspension, several aspirants and doctors took to X (formerly Twitter) and started speculating on the reason for this development.
"What’s going on ? NBE Account Suspended," wrote a doctor. Taking a dig at NBE's capability of conducting NEET PG exam in a transparent manner, another user wrote on an X post, "NBE Account Suspended from Google !! Unable to manage account and Will conduct Neet PG exam with full Transparency! ! #MedTwitter #neetpg2024 #neet"
Doctors and medical associations on social media expressed their shock over this development. Referring to this, All FMGS Association mentioned in an X post, "What's going on with NBE's account? suspended from Google? With all the chaos around the cancellation of NEETPG on March 3rd, students are left wondering. Can't they keep a website up?"
Speculating the reason for this suspension, RTI activist Dr. Vivek Pandey mentioned in a post, "What's going on NBE Account Suspended It seems like there have been various issues within the past 48 hours, conflicting news about the #neetpg2024 exam being postponed to July. including problems with the website, then suspension of the NBE account #MedTwitter #NEETPG."

The suspension of the NBE website came at a time when the aspirants of NEET PG 2024 are confused over the date for the exam and they were expecting NBE to provide clarity regarding the issue.
Medical Dialogues had recently reported that although earlier it was announced that NEET PG 2024 will tentatively be held on March 03, 2024, recently sources informed PTI that the exam is likely to be held in the first week of July and the counselling is likely to be held in the first week of August. Further, the sources informed that the National Exit Test (NExT) examination will not be held this year.
Sources informed the News Agency ANI that the COVID-19 disruption is one of the major concerns behind this recommendation, as students will complete their internship by June-July 2024.
This latest update regarding the NEET PG 2024 exam contradicts the tentative schedule of exams released by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), which had last year announced that the NEET PG 2024 will tentatively be conducted on 3rd March, 2024.
Naturally, this latest piece of information has created confusion among the aspirants who have now taken to social media platforms, seeking clarity from the authorities.
Amid this situation, Dr. Yogender Malilk, a member of the National Medical Commission's Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) and the Head of the Media Division at the Commission advised students to wait for the official notification in this regard, instead of jumping to conclusions.
Responding to the post of an X (formerly Twitter) user, who sought clarity regarding the issue, Dr. Malik mentioned in an X post, "Pls wait for official announcement for everything."
Note: As of January 09, 2024, at the time of publication of the news, the suspension on the NBE website has been lifted and it can be accessed.
