DCI hopes for participation of All Dental Colleges in NIRF Rankings From 2023 Onwards

New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the Dental Council of India (DCI) has stated that it is expecting participation from all the dental colleges across India for NIRF Rankings from 2023 onwards.

Recently Medical Dialogues team reported that the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2022. The rankings had been released under various categories, including Overall Medical, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Colleges, Architecture, Law, Dental, and Research.

In terms of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking 2022 for dental colleges, the Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai (SIMTS Chennai) has topped the dental college's list with a score of 82.30. The Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal (MCDS Manipal) has secured 2nd position in the top dental college's list with a score of 77.28.

Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune (DYPV Pune), has been ranked in the 3rd position by NIRF 2022 with a score of 76.67. The 4th, 5th and 6th position is ranked by Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, Delhi (MAIDS Delhi), King George`s Medical University, Lucknow (KGMU Lucknow), and A.B.Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangaluru (ABSMDS Mangaluru) respectively.

DCI through a written notification congratulated the Principals of the first 40 dental colleges and also appreciated on the record to all the dental institutions those participated in National Institutional Ranking Framework system of educational institutions for India Rankings 2022.

"It is expected that all the dental colleges shall participate for NIRF Rankings in the coming year/s from 2023 and onwards," it further stated.

A total of 40 dental colleges are there on the India Ranking list across India.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is a methodology adopted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, to rank institutions of higher education in India. The Framework was approved by the MHRD and launched by the Minister of Human Resource Development on 29 September 2015.
