NEET MDS counselling 2026: MCC releases 290 clear, 499 virtual vacancy seat position for round 3
New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the clear vacancy and virtual vacancy seat matrices for Round 3 of NEET MDS 2026 counselling, giving postgraduate dental aspirants an updated picture of the seats available and those that may become vacant during the allotment process.
The two matrices provide institute-wise, speciality-wise, quota-wise and category-wise details of MDS seats across government dental colleges, central universities and deemed universities.
According to the clear vacancy matrix, 290 MDS seats have been listed for Round 3 counselling and 499 seats in virtual vacancies
Candidates participating in the third round have been advised to carefully examine both matrices before finalising their choices, as the availability of virtual vacancy seats depends on the movement of candidates during counselling.
The matrices cover major postgraduate dental specialities. The seats are distributed across several states and Union Territories. The matrices also specify the applicable reservation categories, including Open, OBC, SC, ST and EWS, along with seats identified for Persons with Disabilities.
Several government dental colleges feature in the Round 3 seat matrices. Below are the detailed seat matrices-
