 Raipur: Recently, the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chattisgarh has released a notice regarding the fee structure of Post Graduation (MD/MS) courses in clinical, pre-clinical and para-clinical branches, which is fixed by the fee regulatory committee for academic year 2023-24.

There are two private medical colleges in Chattisgarh offering PG medical courses this year: Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences and Raipur Institute of Medical Sciences.

Firstly, at Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences, students who opt for clinical courses at the PG level are required to remit INR 998,954. Alternatively, students pursuing pre-clinical and para-clinical courses will be subject to a fee of INR 799,187.

At Raipur Institute of Medical Sciences, students enrolling in postgraduate clinical programs will encounter a fee of INR 931,484, while those pursuing pre-clinical and paraclinical courses will be charged INR 745,187. These figures encapsulate the financial obligations associated with advanced medical education at these respective institutions.

Medical Dialogues earlier reported that the third private medical college in Chhattisgarh Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial College, referred to as CCM, has become entangled in a minor controversy over the past year. This situation has arisen subsequent to the retraction of seats from the NEET counselling process. It is noteworthy that the National Medical Commission (NMC) granted approval for the allocation of 150 MBBS seats to this institution in the preceding year. These developments have brought CCM under scrutiny, shedding light on the intricate landscape of medical education in the region.
