Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University To Conduct 15th Convocation On 6th June 2023 At Dwarka Campus, details

Delhi: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has announced the conduction of the fifteenth Convocation on Tuesday, 06th June 2023, as its Dwarka Campus.

The Hon'ble Lt. Governor of Delhi will preside over the ceremony as Chancellor of the University. During the Convocation, the Certificates and Medals will be conferred upon the PhD Scholars and Gold Medalist Students who have successfully completed the requirements of their program.

The students, as per the list notified on the University Website, who wish their Degrees (in case of Ph.D. Scholars) / Certificate of Merit and Gold Medal (in case of Gold Medalists) to be conferred "in person" are required to submit consent letter as per Annexure "A" (in case of Ph.D. Scholars) / Annexure "B" (in case of Gold Medalists) and Admit Card Performa as per Annexure "C" (Two Copies) shall be duly verified by the Dean/Director/Principal of the School/Institute/College latest by 27th May 2023 (Saturday) up to 04:00 pm in the office of Controller of Examinations-I, Examination Division, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Dwarka positively, failing which the Degree/Certificate of Merit and Gold Medal would be conferred 'in absentia".

The students note that the examination division, GGSIP University, will be working on 27th May 2023 (Saturday) till 04:00 pm.

The following are the guidelines issued –

The admit card will be issued on receipt of consent from the students. Students without proper `admit cards' cannot attend Rehearsal and Convocation.

For the orderly conduct of the Convocation, a rehearsal will be conducted in the 'Auditorium' on 05th June 2023, for which students must report at 11:00 am in the University. All the Ph.D. Scholars and Gold Medalists must attend this rehearsal, failing which they would not be allowed to attend the Convocation. The students will attend the rehearsal and occupy their allotted seats strictly as per "Seat Allocation."

Convocation will be held in 'Auditorium' on 06th June (Tuesday), 2023, for which students must report at the respective "Attendance Counter" established in the University on 06th June 2023 at 08:30 am and get their seat number in the 'Auditorium' allotted.

All the students will be Compulsorily wearing gowns, which will be available on hire from the "Gown Counters" established in the University on 06th June 2023 at 09:00 am. The gowns will be issued against a deposit of Rs. 500 per gown as Security (refundable). The hire charges @ Rs.50 per gown will be deducted when the gowns are deposited back after the Convocation at the Gown Counter. Full security charges will be forfeited if the Gowns are not deposited by 04:00 pm on 06th June 2023 (Tuesday).

Only the recipient students accompanied by their parents/spouse (Only one person) are allowed entry. The student should strictly adhere to COVID PROTOCOL.

Students are requested not to bring any briefcase, bag, camera, mobile phone, electronic gadgets, matchbox, water bottle, or eatables inside the University. Students are advised to make their own arrangements for safe custody of their belongings as the University will find it difficult to arrange the same.

Entry and parking instructions –

Gates (for entry & exit) of the University have been earmarked as under -

1. (Gate No. 02 (Main Gate) - For VV1P, V IP & Faculty/Officers/Staff of the University.

2. Gate No. 04 (Near Badminton Court) - For Awardees/Students, Residents & I Hostellers

The parking arrangements for Vehicles have been earmarked as under -

1. For VV1P - D & E Block

2. For VIP/Guest - Behind Girls Hostels

3. For Faculty / Officers /- Block A, B, C & opposite PRO Office

All other vehicles (except 2(a), (b) & (c) above) are not allowed inside the University Campus.

Due to security reasons in the University Campus, vehicles of the Students/Awardees are not allowed inside the University Campus. Only one person (Father/Mother/Gaurdian./Spouse/relative) is allowed along with Awardee. All awardees /invitees are requested to bring their invitation cards with an envelope. The invitation card is not transferable.

All outsourced staff with valid identity cards are allowed on the University Campus. No vehicle is allowed for outsourced staff inside the University Campus. Therefore, all outsourced staff are directed to use public transport to avoid inconvenience.

All the residents and hostellers are advised to use Gale No. 04 (near the badminton court) for entry & exit and also convey to the School Bus / Van drivers to use Gate No. 04 to pick up & drop off their wards to/from school. It is also requested that Faculty / Officers f Staff of the University use public transport (if possible) to avoid inconvenience. All the Faculties/Officers/Officials of the University are advised to carry their Identity Card (ID) with them.

Entry into the Convocation Venue arc is allowed only to those with the necessary valid identity Card/Invitation Card. Entries of Children are not permitted inside the Convocation Venue. Items such as Mobile Phones, Cameras, weapons, sticks, sharp items, handbags, binoculars, electronic gadgets, briefcases, lighters, matchboxes, cigarettes, eatables, water bottles, etc., are not allowed inside the venue.
