Hisar: The medical students pursuing their students at Hisar based Maharaja Agrasen Medical College (MAMC) will now get better chances for all-round development as the college has started the National Cadet Corps (NCC) wing for the medicos.

With this, MAMC has now become the first medical college in Haryana offering NCC wing to its students and the third medical college in the country, adds Tribune India.

Already for 18 seats of the NCC, an examination was held at the medical college and around 40 MBBS students appeared fir the test, the spokesperson of MAMC has informed the daily.

After clearing the physical and written examination, the students also had to face an interview by Colonel SS Gill, Commanding Officer of the Third Haryana Battalion, NCC.

Pointing out how NCC is the best option for all-round development of the students, Col Gill further informed The Tribune how NCC gives the young students the opportunity for channeling their energies in the better direction. He mentioned, "The NCC is a good opportunity for students who can serve in the Army as doctors."

While commenting on the matter, the NCC Officer of the college, Satyendar Jain referred to this development as a matter of pride for Hisar and the State and added, "At present, 18 seats have been earmarked for the college, which will be increased in future."

Expressing their joy over this, the Director of MAMC, Dr. Alka Chhabra and the Director of the Administration, Dr. Ashutosh Sharma also pointed out how NCC would instil a sense of responsibility and discipline among the students.
