New Delhi : Through a recent notice, Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has granted the 'Change of Category' option for NEET PG Counselling candidates who had inadvertently filled their category as SC/ ST/ EWS/ OBC in the registration form of NBE but later realised that they are unable to claim reserved category seat due to any reason.

All the concerned NEET PG 2022 candidates are hereby informed that keeping in view the said circumstances MCC of DGHS, MoHFW is allowing 'Change of Category' option on front page of Registration form which may be availed by only those Candidates who wish to change their category from SC/ST/OBC/EWS to UR category for Round 1 of NEET PG Counselling, 2022 and subsequent rounds.

Similarly, candidates can change their nationality from 'NRI' to 'INDIAN'.

Rest of the Candidates who do not wish to carry out the said changes may not avail the said facility, the MCC notice said.

"Also, once Candidates change their category from SC/ST/OBC/EWS to UR category or nationality from 'NRI' to 'INDIAN' they will be deemed to be UR/ Indian for further rounds of counselling and they will not be able to change their category back to SC/ST/OBC/EWS or nationality to NRI. It is again informed that the Candidates can avail the facility of 'Change of Category/ Nationality' only once. Also, as per the Counselling policy of MCC of DGHS, MoHFW, benefit of OBC reservation is given to candidates of OBC-NCL category who belong to Central List of OBC," the MCC notice added.

MCC of DGHS allots seats to candidates on the basis of merit and choices filled by them through MCC software which can be downloaded only by the successful candidates from MCC website.

In its earlier notice, the MCC has clarified that it does not allot seats on nomination basis. It is further reiterated that no letters are issued by MCC of DGHS to successful students.

Candidates who have been allotted seats by MCC have to download Provisional Allotment Letters from MCC website and report at allotted colleges for admission. Hence, candidates are advised to beware of any letters issued by scrupulous persons on behalf of MCC regarding allotment of seats, the MCC said.

The counselling body has further advised the candidates to be cautious of Fake Agents and are advised to perform all activities related to Registration on the website by themselves instead of hiring agents for the same.
