Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Resignation/Seat Surrender module for Round-1 is in progress and will end on 4th May 2020.

However, this deadline  has created confusion in certain states where the state counselling authorities could not conduct the admission procedure due to coronavirus outbreak and lockdown.

Informing Medical Dialogues about the said situation, one PG medical candidate form Andhra Pradesh said, "As the state 1st round of counselling from Andhra Pradesh is not yet completed (even the seat matrix is not released till now) the process of counselling may not be completed by 4th May."

With the MCC now stating that students joined in 1st round have to resign before 4th is not possible as we may lose the seat in AIQ and may not get a seat in State counselling, the doctor added.

The candidate further said that the authorities should postpone the deadline for resignation from AIQ round 1 or advise the State authorities to complete the process before 4th May. "Students who resign in AIQ and miss it in State quota also. The notice is given after the process has started. This is not given in the prospectus.Students are at loss due to this new rule .1 year of hard work to get a rank and the merit will be wasted.Previously MCC gave time to resign till 48hrs after 2nd counselling results," the medico stressed.
