7 out of 10 MBBS seats still vacant: Jharkhand Medical Colleges Struggle to Fill Central Govt Nominee Seats

Dr. SK Singh, the director of the medical education wing at Jharkhand's health department, has clarified that there isn't a specific admission date designated for central government nominees. He pointed out that, in line with the National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines, all admissions in medical colleges across the nation should be concluded by September 30, and this timeframe encompasses the filling of seats for central government nominees. He stated that before the last date of admission on central nominee seats, it would be completed in all medical colleges of the state.

As the principal of SBMCH located in Hazaribagh, Dr. SK Singh relayed the information that two central government nominees, hailing from the defense sector, have successfully secured admission to the institution.

At MGMMCH in Jamshedpur, Dr. KN Singh, in his capacity as the principal, announced that the third central government nominee student, originating from Nagaland, has been admitted. He also pointed out that one seat designated for central government nominees remains vacant.

Dr. Arun Kumar Choudhary, principal of PJMCH, along with Dr. Ganesh Kumar, the admission in-charge at Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) in Dhanbad, and Dr. Atul Prakash, the admission in-charge at MMCH Palamu, jointly stated that both central government nominee seats are currently vacant.

Dr. Ganesh Kumar stated that the admission deadline is September 30, and with today being September 7, they expect the selected nominees to complete their admissions within the provided timeframe.
