AIIMS announces open round counselling schedule for INI CET July 2026 session, details
New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has announced the Open Round schedule for online seat allocation for admission to postgraduate courses under the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) July 2026 session.
The counselling schedule covers admissions to MD, MS, six-year DM, six-year MCh and MDS programmes across participating Institutes of National Importance (INIs).
The schedule has been notified through a notice by the AIIMS Examination Section. The Open Round will be the final opportunity for eligible candidates to secure admission for the July 2026 academic session.
According to the notice, the online registration and exercising of choices for the Open Round have commenced on July 27, 2026, and continue until 5:00 PM on August 3, 2026.
During this period, candidates will be required to register online and fill in their preferred institutes and subject/speciality choices through the AIIMS counselling portal.
AIIMS will declare the Open Round seat allocation result on August 21, 2026.
Candidates who are allotted seats must complete the online acceptance of the allotted seat between August 22 and August 31, 2026, up to 11:00 AM on the last date.
The reporting period for joining the allotted institute will also remain open from August 22 to August 31, 2026, with the deadline fixed at 11:00 AM on August 31. Below is the detailed schedule-

NOTE
1 Sponsored/in-service candidates should get relieved from the parent dept./Institute by 11.00 am, 31.08.2026 as applicable.
2 No extension will be granted in the last date of reporting/admission.
3 No further round of seat allocation will be conducted by any participating institute for the July 2026 Session.
4 All PWBD Candidates who will be allotted the New seat or upgraded to a better seat are required to report with all documents, including the original PWBD certificate, on 22.08.2026 (09:30 am) at the Registrar's Office, AIIMS, New Delhi, for verification of the disability certificate by the Medical Board.
However, the eligible candidates can access the online seat allocation portal after logging into their candidate dashboard on the official AIIMS examinations website.
All candidates are required to deposit Rs. 3,00,000/- as security and provide the bank details with a scanned copy of the cheque of the bank account in which the refund (if any) is to be credited, as required in the portal. The refund (if any) will be processed in due course after closure of all processes and verification from all aspects. No correspondence regarding early refund will be entertained.

For MD Psychiatry Course-
i General/Unreserved Category’- 32 Years (Candidates Born on or after 01.07.1994 are eligible).
ii ‘OBC Category’- 35 Years (Candidates born on or after 01.07.1991 are eligible).
iii ‘SC/ST/PWBD Category’-37 Years (Candidates born on or after 01.07.1989 are eligible).
iv ‘Sponsored Category’- 45 Years (Candidates born on or after 01.07.1981 are eligible) DM (Neurology), M.Ch. Neurosurgery (Post MBBS category) Course & MD Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation-
v 32 Years (Candidates born on or after 01.07.1994 are eligible).
b) SCTIMST Trivandrum (As on 1st July 2026)-
The age validation for Courses of SCTIMST under INI-CET for the July 2026 session-
i General/Unreserved/ EWS/Foreign National category- 40 Years (candidates born on or after 01.07.1986 are eligible).
ii SC/ST/ Ex-service personnel/PwBD – 45 Years (Candidates born on or after 01.07.1981 are eligible).
iii OBC – 43 Years (Candidates born on or after 01.07.1983 are eligible).
iv Sponsored– 50 Years (Candidates born on or after 01.07.1976 are eligible).
Candidates who have appeared in INI-CET PG for the July 2026 session held on Saturday, the 16th May, 2026 and obtained the following percentile will be deemed to be provisionally eligible (subject to other criteria) to participate in the open round of seat allocation-
a Unreserved (UR)/EWS/Foreign National/OCI - 50th percentile.
b OBC, SC, ST, PwBD - 45th percentile.
c Bhutani National – 45th percentile.
Status of applicable reserve category for all OBC/EWS candidates participating in the open round of seat allocation will be considered as per verification done before the 1st round of online seat allocation. The OBC/EWS certificate must be valid for admission in a Central Govt. Institution.
