AIIMS extends PhD July 2026 registration deadline
New Delhi: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has extended the last date for online registration for the PhD Programme July 2026 session till May 16, 2026, giving aspirants additional time to complete their applications.
Along with the revised registration deadline, the institute has also announced an updated schedule for the entrance examination, admit card release, result declaration, departmental assessment, and final admission process for the upcoming Ph.D. session.
The revised schedule is as follows:

| Departmental Assessment | 10th & 11th June, 2026 |
| Final Result | 19th June, 2026 (Friday) |
| Last date for joining the Ph.D. Program | 31st August, 2026 |
• Candidates, who are likely to complete the requisite qualification and degree i.e. 31st July, 2026 may also apply. All such candidates must submit a certificate on letter head of the College/University, signed and stamped by the Registrar/Dean/Principal, confirming that the candidate is likely to complete the eligibility qualification by 31st July 2026. This does not apply to claiming Own Fellowship (OF), proof of which must be submitted before the last date of submission.
• The result of the above-listed National Entrance Tests must have been declared between July 2024 and May 2026 (Last Date of Application).
• The PhD Seats shall lapse if the selected candidates do not join by 31st August, 2026 for the July session. No candidate shall be allowed to join after 31st August, 2026 for the July 2026 session.
• The additional UG qualification requirement (Candidates with a B.A./B.Sc. in Social work can only apply) mentioned against FA2 Project No. I-1935 under NDDTC (National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre) at S. No. 16 in the PhD Prospectus stands deleted.
