AIIMS Raipur Opens Online Application Window For Admission to DM, Mch Courses January 2023

Raipur: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS Raipur) has opened the online application window for admission to DM/MCh courses - January 2023.

The candidates can apply till 31st January 2023 through Google Form (Link¬https://forms.gle/iw1iaVhwa7UxbNrVA ). They are allowed to submit applications for a maximum of two DM/MCh courses and need to fill out separate Applications for each course. In case of more than 2 applications, the first 2 applications submitted will be considered.

Application fee -

1. General/OBC Category: 2500/- + Transaction Charges as applicable

2. SC/ST/EWS Category: Rs. 2200/- + Transaction Charges as applicable.

3. PWBD Candidates are exempted from Fees.

The process to fill out the application form –

1. The candidate should save their photographs and signature in the prescribed format. The format is enclosed in the notice below.

2. The candidates must fill all the fields carefully since after submission of the online application, requests for change in any information at any later stage will not be considered.

3. The candidates are requested to fill in the correct details regarding name/age/sex/caste/address/educational qualification, and other relevant fields mentioned in the application.

3. Candidates, unless they pay the Application Fee, their application will be treated as incomplete.

4. Candidates can pay the application fee through NEFT. The candidate will bear additional charges, viz. bank charges, service tax, etc., incurred while online payment of application fees. Candidates are advised to take a print of the Fee of Application Form receipt for their records and future reference. Admit Card will be sent to the candidate's email (as provided in the application form) well in advance of the examination date. The bank details are enclosed in the notice below.

5. Payment of application fees by any other mode, viz Cash, Cheque, Money Orders, Postal Orders, Pay Orders, Banker's Cheques, Postal Stamps, etc., will not be accepted. Such applications will be summarily rejected. In this regard, the decision of the Director, AIIMS Raipur, will be final and binding.

6. Candidates make sure to get the confirmation of the successful remittance by your bank and retain the proof of the same, which may be required at the time of document verification. The application fee is non-refundable.

Requirements for admission of the overseas citizen of India (OCI) -

Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) registered under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955 are also eligible to appear in DM/MCh courses, and all terms and conditions for Indian Nationals will apply to the candidates. The candidate will submit proof of Registration as OCI under Section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955 to be eligible to appear for this test.

The following are the courses included –

1. DM Clinical Infectious Diseases

2. DM Medical and Forensic Toxicology

3. DM Paediatric Emergency Medicine

4. DM Paediatric Critical Care

5. MCh Joint Replacement and Reconstruction

Seat details –

A total of 5 seats are allotted for the above courses. Each course has 1 seat.

Duration of courses - The tenure of training is 3 years from the date of joining the course.

Eligibility qualification –

1. DM Clinical Infectious Diseases – MD/DNB in General Medicine/Paediatric/Tropical Medicine or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Medical Council of India/NMC.

2. DM Medical and Forensic Toxicology - MD/DNB in Forensic Medicine OR Forensic Medicine & Toxicology OR Pharmacology OR Emergency Medicine OR Internal/General Medicine OR Paediatrics recognized by Medical Council of India/NMC.

3. DM Paediatric Emergency Medicine - MD/DNB Paediatrics OR Emergency Medicine recognized by the Medical Council of India/NMC.

4. DM Paediatric Critical Care - MD/DNB in Paediatrics or an equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India/NMC.

5. MCh Joint Replacement and Reconstruction - MS/DNB Orthopaedics or an equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India/NMC.

The candidates must have completed the requisite qualification, degree and tenure by 28th February 2023. The candidates who are likely to complete their 3 years requisite qualification, degree and tenure after 28th February 2023 will not be eligible to appear in this examination. Any wrong information provided by the candidate on the same may invite disciplinary action, including debarment from the future examination.

Upper age limit -

1. Upper age limit is 45 years as on 1st January 2023.

2. Upper age limit is relaxable for OBC Candidates by a maximum of 3 years.

3. Upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST candidates by a maximum of 5 years.

4. Upper age limit is relaxable for Ex-Serviceman and Commissioned Officers, including ECO and SSCO, who have rendered or released on satisfactory assignment with age relaxation by a maximum of 5 years.

5. The persons with benchmark disabilities shall be given an upper age relaxation of 05 years for admission to DM/M.Ch for PWD candidates as per the right of persons with Disability Act, 2016.

AIIMS has further notified that for the application fee, the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/PWBD category must possess a certificate issued by a competent authority (as applicable to category/format provided by AIIMS Raipur). OBC (NCL) certificate must be issued within one year of the last date for Application 31st March 2023 (i.e. issued between 1st February 2022 to 31st March 2023).

EWS certificate should be issued on or after 1st April 2022 to the last date of filling in the application form, i.e. 31st March 2023, based on the income of the year 2021-2022. ST/SC/PWBD certificate should be issued before the last of the application, i.e. 31st March 2023.

Submission of caste certificate by SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates -

The candidates who belong to the category have to submit an attested copy of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes and EWS as applicable, along with other requisite documents, from any one of the following authorities stating that the candidate belongs to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes or EWS in the prescribed form -

1. District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Collector, Deputy Commissioner, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Collector, 1st Class Stipendiary Magistrate, City Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Taluka Magistrate, Executive Magistrate, Extra Assistant Commissioner.

2. Chief Presidency Magistrate/Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate.

3. Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar.

4. Sub-Divisional Officer of the area where the candidate and their family reside typically.

5. Administrator/Secretary to Administrator/Development Officer (Lakshadweep Islands) or as authorized in the Constitution.

The candidate must submit an undertaking to the effect of their caste. Detecting any discrepancy in the caste certificate will entail the cancellation of registration. This is per the provisions made by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions vide their order No. 36033/4/97-Estt. (RES) dated 25.07.2003 and No. 36011/3/2005-Estt. (RES) dated 9.9.2005 respectively.

A certificate from any other person/authority will not be accepted, and no further correspondence in this regard will be entertained. The officer's name, designation and seal should be legible on the certificate.

Admit Card –

On 5th February 2023, the admit Card will be issued through the mail.

Schedule of exam –

The written exam will be conducted on 10th February 2023 (Pen Paper Based) from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The exam centre will be AIIMS Raipur.

Scheme of exam –

1. MCQs - 100

2. Max. Marks – 100

Scheme of marking -

The question paper will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 2 hours duration. There is no negative marking. The scheme of marking will be as follows -

1. Correct Answer: One mark (+1)

2. Not answered: Zero mark (0)

The candidates should note that those applying for two DM/MCh courses must appear for both examinations. Additional time will be provided for the second examination.

Method of selection -

The percentile scores will be used to determine eligibility for admission. The candidate must secure the 50th percentile mark to be eligible for admission. The merit list will be prepared as per percentile score.

Method of resolving ties -

If two or more candidates obtain equal percentile scores in the entrance examination, then their

Inter-se-merit for admission to the course shall be determined based on the following -

1. A candidate senior will rank senior to the candidate junior in age.

2. If the age is also the same, then a candidate who has obtained higher marks (Aggregate) in the MBBS examination will rank senior to a candidate who has obtained lesser marks.

Joining -

1. Selected candidates must join on or before 28th February 2023. The competent authority may extend joining till 15th March 2023 based on the merit of each case. If the selected candidates fail to join by this date and no written request for extension is received by 28th February 2023, it will be assumed that they do not intend to join the course, and the seat will be offered to the next candidate on the waiting list.

2. The last course admission date will be 31st March 2023. In any circumstances, the later date for admission will not be extended after 31st March 2023. This includes candidates on the wait list who may be offered a seat if the selected candidates do not join.

Fee details –

Course fee – Rs 1125 (Including Hostel Security Deposit Rs 1000 (refundable))

Emolument - DM/MCh candidate selected for the post of Senior Resident will be paid emoluments as applicable to the post level 11 of the Pay Matrix (Pre-revised Pay Band-3 Rs.15600-39100+6600 Grade Pay) with entry pay of Rs.67700 per month plus usual allowances as admissible under the rules or revised pay scale as per 7th CPC as applicable.

The following are the instructions issued to the candidates –

1. The candidates need to fill out the application carefully. It may not be possible to make changes after submitting the application.

2. Any Amendment/Rectification/Change/Editing is not allowed in Name, Category, Department and PWBD status once submitted. Any address change, mobile no. and email ID should be intimated to this office immediately.

3. The Competent Authority reserves the right of any amendment, cancellation or changes to this advertisement as a whole or in part without giving any reason or notice.

4. In case any information given or declared by the candidates is false, or if the candidates have willfully suppressed any material information relevant to their admission, they will be liable to be removed from the institute and any action taken as deemed fit by the competent authority.

5. The competent authority's decision regarding the selection of candidates will be final, and no representation will be entertained in this regard.

6. The selected candidates' names will be displayed on the institute's website.

7. There is no provision for re-checking/re-evaluating the answer sheets, and no query will be entertained.

8. The decision of the Director of the Institute will be final in the matter of the selection of candidates for admission to the DM/MCh Course, and no appeal will be entertained in this regard.

9. Selected candidates must join the course on the date stipulated in the selection letter, failing which the selection/admission shall stand cancelled/withdrawn.

10. The selected candidates must submit the original Permanent Registration Certificate at the reporting time.

11. The selection of Senior Residents (DM/MCh) will be subject to medical fitness. No selected candidate will be permitted to pay the course fee/join the course unless declared medically fit by the Medical Board constituted by the institute. The decision of the Medical Board will be final.

12. Private practice in any form during the course is prohibited. The period of training is strictly full-time and continuous.

13. The rules are subject to change in accordance with the decision of the institute to be taken from time to time.

14. Candidates are not allowed to bring mobile phones, books, notes and loose sheets, any other electronic gadgets and any other communication devices inside the examination premises/hall and any infringement of these instructions will entail debarment from future examinations of AIIMS Raipur without prejudice to the initiation of criminal proceedings against the candidates.
